T-Mobile customers who have been waiting for a Froyo update for their Samsung Galaxy S could finally be getting it over the air today.

‘Barry’, from T-Mobile has been on the official forum to explain the delay, saying that T-Mobile wants to be the only operator offering Firmware over the air (FOTA) updates for Samsung products.

Samsung smartphone owners usually have to update by connecting their handset to a PC  and using ‘Kies‘ – Samsung’s firmware update management software.

While the Froyo update is scheduled for today T-Mobile notes that there may be ‘reasons [outside] our control’ that will prevent its release. If that’s the case, customers can get the update from Kies tomorrow.

Let’s just hope it’s not in German this time…
