Samsung Galaxy Ace

The Samsung Galaxy Ace is back from the labs and we have our verdict on the Android smartphone.

Scoring a respectable 58% the Galaxy Ace doesn’t get a prestigious Which? Best Buy award, but it does get some good scores for surfing the internet and had a surprisingly good battery life.

Like the rest of the Samsung Galaxy range the Ace runs the Android operating system. Unfortunately it only runs the slightly dated Froyo (2.2) version rather than the latest Gingerbread version – but only the most hardened fans would be able to tell the difference.

When surfing the internet we found the Ace loaded pages quickly and the touchscreen made it easy to navigate. We also found that it managed almost three and a half hours of web surfing – which may not sound much, but compared with other smartphones out there is pretty impressive.

Great little smartphone. Ideal for someone making the transition from traditional to smartphone. Unfortunately doesn’t come with a user manual, but it’s available to download. Or ask the children, like i did! Had a problem with duplicated contacts but this was easily solved by deleting the SIM contacts. Battery life isn’t great, but fairly normal for a smartphone apparently. Overall, it’s great!
