Honda unveils new, more advanced ASIMO robot [Video]

Car company Honda has unveiled a new and updated version of its ASIMO humanoid robot. The new version is the thinnest, fastest most advanced Asimo since it was first demonstrated in 2000.
Among the improvements, ASIMO can now walk, run, run backward, hop on one leg or two legs continuously. It can also change landing position in the middle of a motion. The combined effect of these improvements means it can now walk on uneven surfaces, though Honda didn’t demonstrate this ability. It’s also better at reacting to what’s going on around it, avoiding obstacles and allowing it to make decisions without an operator.
See the videos below for examples of its new found ability.

Ah, this reminds me of Little Seiko and Murata boy, toy robots we saw shown off at the Ceatec show in Tokyo 2008. See a snap here http://www.flickr.com/photos/whichtechnology/2909580572/in/photostream
