Google has revealed news of an idea it’s been working on, known as Project Glass. It posted a concept video on YouTube of a pair of glasses which could flash up information right in front of your eyes, as well as allow you to take calls and photos.

Google’s Project Glass video

The video shows what Project Glass might be able to do. Featuring a man wearing the glasses as he goes about his day – from breakfast to sundown – the glasses flash up details such as the weather and transport delay alerts. They also allow him to listen to music, set reminders, make calls, take and share photos and track down friends.

At present Google seems to assume you’d be happy to talk out loud to your glasses in order to instruct them what to show you or do.

Google has made it clear that this project from its Google X lab is not a finished product. It says:

We’re sharing this information now because we want to start a conversation and learn from your valuable input.
