As the first phone to hit the market running Android’s cutting edge and much applauded Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will appeal to those keen to stay at the top of the technology tree
But Ice Cream Sandwich is more that just a chance to boast you’re packing a 4.0 operating system. This new OS offers vastly improved functionality; it’s simpler smoother and better than its Honeycomb predecessor. In particular, Ice Cream Sandwich offers higher quality web browsing; with a sharper display making navigation easier and quicker page loads.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus more than Ice Cream Sandwich
Of course Ice Cream Sandwich is set to be rolled out to a number of phones over the next few months– so what else can the Samsung Galaxy Nexus offer? Plenty.
The specifications on the Nexus are fairly standard for a top range smart phone with a snappy 1.2 Ghz dual core processor and 1GB of Ram. There is also a decent – although in no way market leading – 5Mp autofocus camera.
The Nexus does, however, have some blockbuster features. The 4.65 inch screen is cinematic by smartphone standards and – while it won’t be to everybody’s taste – the large display and Super AMOLED screen with 1280×720 resolution are superb for displaying photos, videos and other multimedia. Also worth mentioning is improved battery life – with its 1750mAh battery an upgrade from the 1500mAh usually featured in smartphones.
