Google Nexus S rumours intensify

More leaked details and rumours have surfaced on the alleged follow-up to Google’s Nexus One smartphone – the Google Nexus S.

As previously reported the now semi-mythological handset is being developed by Samsung, in contrast to the Nexus One, which was developed by HTC.

The rumour mill started grinding last night when US online retailer Best Buy put up a banner on its website advertising, yep you guessed it, the Google Nexus S.

The ad said that the Nexus S would only be “available at Best Buy this holiday season,” suggesting that – if the Nexus S is real – it would only be available in the US before Christmas.

Pocklint then discovered that someone had been posting pictures on Picasa with a camera called…the Nexus S.

Engadget was then contacted by a reader who claimed he already has the Google Nexus S in his hands and he sent pictures to prove it.

A website called Androidpolice are now claiming that the Nexus S will launch in the US on 14th November, which is odd because phones don’t usually launch on Sundays, and we would have thought Samsung would have scheduled an event by now to mark the occasion.

Both Google and Samsung have both denied the existence of the Nexus S. We’re still sceptical (though *ahem* gradually coming around to the idea). What do you think?
