The latest batch of photos of the enigmatic Google Nexus S has appeared, this time showing some blurry shots of the handset running Android 2.3.

The newest version of Android, codenamed Gingerbread and expected to be released soon, seems to have been called 2.3 rather than 3.0 as some had predicted.

We are not entirely sure what to make of these pictures. They’re more blurry than Bigfoot and the owner even blacks-out the date on the screen – making us wonder what they are trying to hide.

The source, who spoke to XDA Developers, also had a few specs for us to mull over, although they sound more like speculation than any real facts.

They said that it could have a dual-core processor which is exciting, but it might only have 1GB of internal storage, which isn’t so great.

But still, it looks like the Nexus S may finally be inching closer to reality after all the rumours.
