HTC has announced that the Sensation range and the Evo 3D will be among the first devices to be upgraded to the latest version of the Android operating system.

The updates will be rolled out in early 2012 and will be available for the HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation XE, HTC Sensation XL and HTC Evo 3D – as well as the Rezound, the Evo, the Design 4G and Amaze 4G which aren’t available in the UK.

There’s no news yet on whether any of the slightly older devices such as the Desire S or Incredible S will be treated to the Ice Cream Sandwich – although HTC has said that it is continuing to assess its product portfolio and will be announcing more news on product updates.

Once HTC release the update it will still be up to your mobile network to roll out the update, but we’re hoping that once it’s available they will push them out as quickly as possible.

We will be seeing Ice Cream Sandwich making its début on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus on 17 November, but if you want to preorder the phone it can now be picked up free on mobile phone deals.
