HTC Wildfire S goes on sale

The Wildfire S is HTC’s revamp of the popular budget smartphone the HTC Wildfire.

HTC has made a few changes to the original design, redesigning the interface, removing the optical mouse and replacing it with touch sensitive buttons along the bottom of the screen. The manufacturer has also improved the screen resolution and tweaked the chassis design.

The new Wildfire’s screen is the same size as the original at 3.2-inches, but HTC have upgraded the resolution from QVGA to HVGA, which it claims will improve the experience with apps optimised to run on this higher resolution.

HTC has again included aluminium in the phone’s case and this gives it a nice feel. Compared with some other smartphones it feels quite small, though some might see this as a plus point.

The Wildfire S is due out sometime in the spring. For more info take a look at our post covering its announcement.
