Samsung quote the Tab as having either 16gb or 32gb Memory which can then be further extended – but I can only find reference to the 16gb version on sale/ pre-order. Does a 32gb version exist?

Hi Helena. The information we’re getting from Samsung is that there will be a 32GB version of the Galaxy Tab. However, you’re right, this version does seem a little elusive at retail. Handtec do appear to be selling one http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php?xProd=3722

We’re buying a Galaxy Tab on the launch day (Monday) so we’ll look out for the 32GB version. There will be a report going up on the blog on the same day, so be sure to check it out.

OK how does this compare with Dell Streak?

Hi Steve,

We haven’t yet done a head to head comparison with the Dell Streak, but check out our first look video review of the Streak here: http://www.which.co.uk/mobile/phones/dell/streak/

I’ve had my Tab for just a few days and so far, I love it.

My only criticism at the moment is that although it is and easy fit in one hand (unlike the iPad), the glossy black case feels a little slippery. I would prefer a grippy mat surface (but I’m going to try a third party gel sleeve).

Text inputting is much better than I anticipated. The ‘keyboard’ looks as though it is bit too small, but surprisingly I have no problem hitting the right keys with my short, fat fingers!

It works great as a browser. Chrome has been tweaked with convenient and logical changes for the smaller screen and conveniently it can be locked into landscape mode.

The email app is excellent, especially in landscape with a layout similar to WLM.

I wonder how long before Apple responds with either a smaller iPad or by including a SIM socket to allow telephone calls and mobile DATA!

Just to say that I now have a black gel case: it works a treat for me. It provides that extra grip you need to balance it firmly in one hand. The case it made from hi-tech silicon gel with anti-static properties to repel dust and shock resistant properties to absorb knocks and scuffs..

For around a fiver from eBay, I highly recommend this upgrade.

Good to hear your having fun with the Galaxy Tab Terry. I’m waiting for ours to come back from the lab so I can get a better go on it.

I doubt Apple will be releasing a smaller iPad. Steve Jobs is on the record saying 7-inch tablets are “dead on arrival”…..hmmm, we’ll see.

A smaller IPad does exist…it’s an Ipod touch. I love mine to bits using Skype away from home. It’s a bit small for web browsing so I’m thinking of the Galaxy. The 10″ IPad is too big for travelling although I have seen a few on planes..withouy a case.
